Kenmare Lace Exhibition
Lacemakers at The Kenmare Lace and Design Centre would like to celebrate ‘the women who did not sit and wait’ on international womens’ day’ (March 9th) with an exhibition of Kenmare Lace at the Carnegie Arts Centre.
The exhibition will include:
• Examples of Antique Kenmare lace made in The Convent of the Poor Clares Kenmare the 1880s and early 1900s.
• Designs painted in the Poor Clare Convent Kenmare in the 1880s
• Kenmare Lace made in recent times from designs painted by the Poor Clare nuns in Kenmare the 1800s.
• Some recently designed pieces.
